The Invisible Hand (ENG)

The first game on fair trade!

“The Invisible Hand” is essentially an Ethic Resource Technology Game.
In fact, “The Invisible Hand” is a 3D game full of action, surprises and investigations, with different missions you can play both in single mode or in “story mode”.
The plot starts from the city environment, with invasive advertisement and dull citizens: Here is where you are going to find the first sign of the corporations’ activity, the “invisible hand”, working on one side to make the West even richer, and on the other side taking advantage on the Third World.
The action moves then to Africa, in a plantation used by the confectionary business, where you will discover how they are exploiting peasant labour and resources. You will have the possibility to build a fairtrade chain by connecting the independent farmers to the end-customers, allowing them to sell their products at fair conditions without being strangled by corporations.
The final action, back to the city, will take place right at WTO headquarters!

The game is provided on PC DVD-ROM, which includes also an encyclopaedia of fairtrade, sustainability and humanitarian projects with many entries, plus hundreds of quick questions available for both individual and group tests! The teacher can configure the interaction completely by individually activating or deactivating all the different sections available from the DVD-ROM, or even setting the level of difficulty (ranging from the simple “point and click” interaction to the real, full 3D action environment – with your character jumping, running and even driving vehicles).

“The Invisible Hand” will be available for free to all operators in Fall 2010, both in the Italian and in the English versions.
